Almost 100 participants at the Block Magic Final Conference: a successful closing event for an exciting project

The final Block Magic conference was organised by the consortium as a final closing event on November 30, 2013 in the Università Pontificia Salesiana in Rome. The event was attended by almost 100 participants, mainly from Italy. The welcoming speech was given by Prof. Zbigneiw Formella, Director of the Psychology Institute of the Università Pontificia Salesiana. Hands-on workshop with Block Magic for Spanish pre-service teachers

  A Block Magic workshop for pre-service teachers was organised by the project members from the University of Barcelona on November 14. 2013. The 24 participants were given a short presentation about the project in general, the development of the various prototypes and the different cycles of evaluation. Block Magic was present at the Smart EDUcation & TECHnology days in Naples

The 10th October 2013, in the framework of Smart EDUcation &TECHnology days (in Italian “3 giorni per la scuola”) in thebuildings of Città della Scienza in Naples, Orazio Miglino and Raffaele Di Fuccio presented BlockMagic. The workshop was called “How some traditional psyco-pedagogical technics could be enhanced using the Smart Technologies: the Block Magic project” and the BlockMagic team noted interests in the kit. Block Magic was presented to 70 people at the University of Dresden

The 21th October 2013 Professor Wolfgang Donsbach and Anna Brüsehaber presented the Block Magic project in Dresden in the Technical University of Dresden. The BlockMagic Partner involved doctors, professors and students of different faculties, e.g. educational technologies, media education, science of educations or lectureship, in order to discuss about the contents, achievements and potentialities of the project. The total number of the attendances were about 70, and at the end of the speeches they had the chance to ask questions

In October 2013, teachers tested and evaluated Block Magic in Greece

Block Magic was presented by Dimitra Dimitrakopoulou in two workshops that took place in Ellinogermaniki Agogi School in Greece on October 2013. The participants were educators who teach in Kindergarten and Primary school and they are interested in incorporating Block Magic in their teaching methods. Teachers tested Block Magic with view to familiarize themselves with its technology and methodology. The objectives, the pedagogical framework and the possibilities of the educational tool were discussed and at the end of the workshops

Block Magic evaluation during the TRANSIt summer school 2013

A workshop on Block Magic was organised within the international summer school TRANSIT ( Comenius – Grundtvig Reference Number : GR-2013-233-001) that focused on transversal key competences for lifelong learning. Workshop “Block Magic: smart technologies to support some traditional psycho-pedagogical practices”, Trento, 18/06/2013

The city of Trento hosted the Block Magic workshop on tangible and smart technologies on the 18th of June, 2013. The workshop started with introduction of the Block Magic system and its development throughout the project, presentation made by Orazio Miglino (CNR). Information and update of Block Magic during the MDVI Euronet Steering Group Meeting (Bari)

An update of the Block Magic project was presented during the MDVI Euronet Steering Group Meeting, held in Molfetta (Bari) at the Residential Health and Social Centre of the Lega del Filo d’Oro in Molfetta. MDVI is a group of professional dedicated to extending knowledge, understanding best practice in the education of children and young people  with Multiple Disabilities and Visual Impairment (MDVI) regardless of education placement.
